Saponihandmadesalento is a brand specializing in natural soap and handmade candles, founded by Valentina de Carlo. In her workshop in San Foca, a small hamlet of Melendugno, near Lecce, she also creates other accessories, such as wedding favours and place cards made out of wax.
All her soaps are crafted using plant elements, such as extra-virgin olive oil, natural essences and flowers and fruits, which she harvests in the countryside and then sun-dries or soaks in oil for forty days. Each mould is then hand-cut and cured for an additional forty days on wooden shelves. Then, each bar is decorated with organza, satin, tulle or jute. Candles, on the other hand, are made with soy wax and natural essences, and enriched with dried flowers, fruits and berries. The choice of natural materials makes the soap fragrances very delicate, while the candles don’t release toxic substances into the environment. The utmost attention to detail makes each product truly unique.
