UNISVE is a restoration workshop founded in Venice in 2001.
It was founded as the “Unione Stuccatori Veneziani,” thanks to the initiative of a group of artisans, students of the master plasterer Mario Fogliata, with the intention of preserving and keeping alive the endangered traditional Venetian craft techniques.
This knowledge is now employed by UNISVE’s restorers and plasterers for the restoration and conservation of decorated architectural surfaces, and for the decoration and renovation of valuable properties.
The firm is based in a former squero in the center of the island: here, or directly on site, only the materials and techniques of the Venetian tradition are used, and carrying out important research and experimentation on raw materials and ancient workmanship.
The studio also offers services for art, such as the design and execution of museum displays, environmental monitoring, and stratigraphic and diagnostic surveys.

In collaboration with architects and designers, UNISVE’s artisans restore historic rooms and palaces to their former glory, or perform new stucco work, finishes and decorations, such as marmorino, stucco reliefs and cornices, frescoes, tromp l’oeil and gilding, even involving upholsterers, carpenters, carvers and terrazzo workers.
Thus passing on centuries-old know-how, these craftsmen put their high skills at the service of Venice’s art and cultural heritage.
