Alessandro Mandruzzato is a master glassmaker, heir to a family tradition that has given impetus to contemporary-style Murano glass furnishing.
In his furnace on the island of Murano in Venice, he makes vases and other objects for the home, using only the techniques of traditional craftsmanship, handed down from father to son, and involving the cutting, grinding and polishing of glass blocks, with grinding wheels and other tools.
His pieces, all forged by hand with the tools of the craft, are distinguished by their geometric shapes, flat and polished surfaces and minimalist design: a unique style, conceived in the very first years of the company’s foundation, and which immediately led to collaborations with prestigious luxury companies, such as Christian Dior.
Over the years, Mandruzzato’s creations have evolved to become icons of simplicity and elegance.
At the head of the family business since 2000, Alessandro represents the fourth generation: his management and his artistic work are based on the search for the perfect combination of ancient tradition and innovation. Over the course of his career, he has created works and sculptures in glass exhibited in major museums around the world, and has won numerous prizes and awards, including the Globo Tricolore (2012), and the title of MAM – Maestro d’Arte e Mestiere (2024).
