Les Tisserands is a craft business immersed in nature, located in Valgrisenche, near Aosta. For over 50 years, this workshop has been carrying on the historic trade of loom weaving. The weavers of this cooperative create garments called “drap”, using wool from Rosset sheep, a native Valdostan breed. Small garments are entirely hand-crafted, while blankets and rugs are weaved on traditional horizontal wooden looms.
Starting from fine fabrics they also craft handbags, hats, sweaters and winter accessories, even custom-made or on commission.
Recently, they started collaborating with leather craftsmen and dyers, thus exploring new processings and aesthetic possibilities to enhance their products. The resulting garments are able to combine the precious local weaving traditions with innovation and modernity.
