Manuele Parati is a ceramist with a workshop in Madignano, near Cremona. Here he creates, by hand or on the potter’s wheel, unique or limited series pieces, home décors or tableware, mainly using porcelain and stoneware.
After studying sculpture at Brera’s Fine Art Academy, he started working in the marble industry, while also continuing his artistic research, experimenting with different techniques and materials.
He finally found his expressive mean of choice in ceramics, best suited to balance aesthetics and functionality, rules and freedom: a craft which allowed him to transform his ideas into concrete objects, aesthetically elevated but at the same time simple and suitable for everyday use. After building his own potter’s wheel and kiln and setting up his atelier, he began his adventure in the world of ceramics: today he crafts tableware and other functional objects, fired at high temperatures and enriched with effects resulting from his long research and experimentation with unique materials, such as wood ashes and local clays.
