Nicola Salvioli is a restorer specializing in metal and leather artefacts conservation. After his diploma from Florence’s Opificio delle Pietre Dure, he was certified from MIBACT (Italy’s Ministry of Culture) and opened his business.
For almost 20 years now, he has been carrying out restorations in Italy and abroad, for public institutions, local or religious organizations, universities, foundations and private clients. His interventions mainly focus on metal or multi-material – but predominantly metallic – items. He also provides diagnostics services to assess the conservation state of artefacts, sometimes collaborating with prominent national institutes. Furthermore, he offers 3D scanning services and, thanks to his cooperation with specialized foundries, he provides partial or complete reconstruction of artworks, employing synthetic materials or bronze. He taught at Opificio delle Pietre Dure, Venaria Reale and Palazzo Spinelli.
