Before being an artist, Simone Crestani is an artisan. He started working glass at 15, in Massimo Lunardon’s atelier, and, in 2010, he established his workshop in Vicenza.
Over the years, he achieved full mastery of the techniques and materials needed to shape his ideas, developing his personal method to work borosilicate glass with a special lampworking technique.
This allows him to create large-scale yet lightweight works, featuring finest details and high resistance. Crestani’s subjects are drawn from nature, plants, and animals and reworked according to his own language and aesthetic taste in a pure, elegant style.
In spite of his young age, his creations have been exhibited in some of the most prestigious international venues, and he is often invited as a visiting artist and instructor in the most important glass centres worldwide. In 2018, he was awarded the Talent de l’Audace prize in Paris’ Centre du Luxe et de la Création.
