Maria Rosa Borraccino is a paper restorer and bookbinder. This job is much more than a trade for her, it’s a real passion: after her degree in Science and technologies for the conservation of cultural heritage and her studies at the Institute for Restoration and Preservation Studies in New York, she specialized in paper and book restoration. Finally, in 2019 she gave life to her dream, by opening her workshop MicronArt in Barletta. Here, she carries out conservation and bookbinding procedures on manuscripts and parchments, prints and engravings; she restores vocabularies and runs diagnostics on paper items, as well as creating her own artworks and other products in paper, such as bookmarks, cards and invitations, by processing paper the old fashioned way, according to the traditional decorative techniques.
