Monica Ortelli is a master ceramist from Faenza. She graduated as a Master Craftsman at Ballardini Art School and, after working for several ceramists in town, she opened her own workshop in 1989. In her atelier, she creates wedding favors, functional objects and decorative items, also available on request. She specializes in the production of traditional majolica, which she decorates with classic and popular motifs such as carnations, pomegranate and peahen, “palmette” and “Belle Donne”, as well as revisited and personalized versions of some decors, such as the art-deco style or curved leaf pattern.
Her work abides by the rules of craftsmanship, and all decorations are strictly brush painted. Her most recent creations feature vibrant and saturated colors, tone-on-tone or in contrast, according to a more contemporary taste and style.
