Alessandro Neretti, alias Nero, is a visual artist working with a number of techniques and materials, primarily ceramics, wood and metal.
His training took place in his hometown, Faenza, where he studied traditional ceramic techniques at “G. Ballardini” Art School. Today he lives and works in Schio, near Vicenza, where he opened his workshop. For over 20 years he has been involved in artistic research and production, mostly creating sculptures, installations and site-specific or custom-made projects for companies, private clients, museums and foundations. His creations are mainly focused at critically observing our contemporary times and always seem to be in an open dialogue with the buildings that host them. The ultimate goal is provocation, resistance and the analysis of contemporaneity through artistic projects shared with the clients.

Nero is a conceptual artist with the skills of a master craftsman, a true rarity! I curated his artistic residency a few years ago at Nove’s Civic Museum of Ceramics, and witnessing his creative process was mind-blowing: his vision is insightful at times, sometimes even shockingly, while his work organization and precision are impeccable!
