DESCRIPTION

A&D – Artigianato e Design” (Craftsmanship and Design) is a project dedicated to the promotion of Veneto’s Artistic Craftsmanship, winner of Veneto Region’s FSE call, entitled “Corporate ateliers. Trades tell the tale – Corporate workshops and ateliers. Itineraries to discover business heritage – 2020”).
The project’s purpose is to help craft businesses showcase their traditional entrepreneurial heritage and create a physical or virtual widespread museum, which will allow the rediscovery of Veneto’s material and immaterial legacy in terms of culture, history and craftsmanship by providing tours and itineraries through the Circuit’s workshops, aspiring to enhance and develop the region and its excellences.

In fact, by getting local artisans involved – particularly some of the most prominent pottery workshops of the district of Nove and Bassano del Grappa and the goldsmiths of Vicenza – A&D strives to create an opportunity for dialogue and cooperation among artisanal workshops, public institutions and associations, schools and universities. Great relevance has been given to training and education: by arranging meetings with schools, individual consultations and other educational activities destined to local craftsmen, the goal is to pass the artisanal know-how on to new generations.

The project is led by Ecipa, together with CNA Veneto Ovest and some network partners, such as: AiCC- Associazione Italiana Città della Ceramica (Association of Italian Cities of Ceramics), Associazione Nove Terra di Ceramica, the City of of Bassano del Grappa, the City of Malo and the network Musei Alto Vicentino, the City of Nove, Corart – Vicenza’s Consortium of Artistic Craftsmanship, Cologni Foundation for the Métiers d’Art, Nove’s Art School G. De Fabris and Venice’s Ca’ Foscari University, all coordinated by researcher Elena Agosti, scientific supervisor of the project and Wellmade’s Ambassador.
