Qui Gatta Ci Cova is an artistic ceramics workshop within walking distance of the centre of Trieste. The atelier was established in 1983, when Paolo Vecchiet returned to his hometown after training at a ceramics school in Tuscany.
The atelier with adjoining showroom is housed in a former bakery, and is a place full of charm and atmosphere. All kinds of furnishing accessories are created here, especially lamps made on a lathe and then finished with the fretwork technique, but also vases, plates, centrepieces and other home items.
Each piece is modelled and decorated by hand, also on the basis of specific customer requests, and is therefore unique and unrepeatable.
The ceramist masters many craft techniques, especially lathe modelling, but also slab modelling and bas-relief. Each piece is then enamelled and hand-painted with traditional motifs, contemporary decorations or according to customer requests, even the most imaginative ones.
