Il Filo d’Autore is a small but precious craft reality, a family business based in Imola, in the province of Bologna: a knitting workshop founded and managed by two sisters, Cristina and Eugenia Benassi, who share a great passion for knitwear and handmade.
For over 30 years these two knitters have been weaving fine yarns and fibres to give life to durable and unique garments, 100% Made in Italy, crafted with great consideration toward the environment.
The Benassi sisters personally oversee each step in the making of their creations, with meticulous attention to detail: their work is based on slow and eco-friendly processing and driven by the pursuit of meaning and beauty. Their knitwear garments are meant to enhance the personality of those who wear them, lasting them a lifetime. Each garment can be in fact customized in every detail, including hand-embroidered initials, and can also be entirely made-to-measure to ensure an optimal fit.
