Atelier Melania Fumiko is a Milan-based haute-couture tailor workshop specializing in bridal and formal wear, where they craft elegant and refined garments, rigorously made-to-measure with prime choice materials, such as silk from the Como region, combined with precious fabrics from Turkey, Japan, Ecuador and Thailand.
After studying business management and marketing at Bocconi University, Melania Fumiko Benassi started to work in the leather industry, first in the field of fashion and later in high-end furniture, two areas in which Made in Italy and craft know-how are always at the forefront.
She later completed her training studying tailoring, fashion design and embroidery, while also delving into innovative techniques such as Shingo Sato and Lunèville. Following her desire to strike out on her own and share her enthusiasm for beautiful and well made things, she opened her haute-couture atelier. She draws inspiration from her worldwide travels and her curiosity and openness towards different cultures, particularly the Japanese culture. Melania Fumiko’s dresses are destined to women who appreciate the value of Italian sartorial art and handmade crafts.
