Valentina Barella is a goldsmith and jewel designer, founder of Oriunda Jewels and co-founder of “About Fucina Orafa”, a co-working project and workshop located in Milan, a space dedicated to the heritage and know-how of jewelry. Oriunda jewels are craft objects made out of precious or non-precious metals such as gold, silver, copper, brass and bronze, enriched with natural and unusual elements which Valentina gathers during her travels: her brand aims to speak a universal, emotional language, able to transcend cultural and linguistic differences. Alongside traditional techniques like lost wax, incision and enamelling, this goldsmith loves to experiment with diverse and refined techniques such as coating, keumboo and electro-forming, also applying a special method of manufacturing jewelry starting from threads and plates. What makes each jewel precious is her skilled work, the selection of materials and, most importantly, the emotions they are able to ignite in those who wear them: her bijoux often hide a word-play, a secret meaning or an ironic detail able to spark reflections and wonder.
