Poignee was set up in 1967 as the first workshop and store in Rome specialised in making handles, thanks to the entrepreneurial spirit of the intellectual Ida Bazzi from Rome.
Today Poignee is an avant-garde craft workshop managed by Ida’s daughter Roberta Borra Cinque and her husband Alessandro Cinque and is specialised in a huge variety of products. All types of materials are processed at the ‘Fabrique Creative’ in Pomezia, including glass, metal, plastic and wood, using a skilled combination of high-tech machinery and traditional manual processes. Excellent quality articles, made to measure or in limited editions, they could realistically be classified as works of art.
In 2017 Poignee acquired the art foundry Domus Dei, taking on the role as a leading producer of classic and contemporary art, and attracting the attention of many international artists and designers.
